Hi,

My Windows 10 version is : 20H2 (OS Build 19042.928)

Today I am not able to start Outlook 2016. It was working fine until yesterday.

When I try to open Outlook it is gives following error:

—————————
OUTLOOK.EXE – Bad Image
—————————
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\RstrtMgr.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000006.

OK

Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I did uninstall of all Office 2016 and then reboot and then installed it all again.

It worked 2-3 times but its giving same issue againĀ :(.

This time I noticed that when I try to open Outlook, my SSD disk goes to 100% in Task Manager.

It remains at 100% for about 1 -2 minutes and then it gives the same error “C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\RstrtMgr.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or……. 0xc0000006.” After this error the SSD usage goes back to normal in Task Manager.

UPDATE – It seems my ssd is failingĀ :(. I am trying to replace it with a new ssd and do a clean install of windows 10 on new ssd.

That’s exactly what the error mesage says. A re-install is needed.

Make sure you remove the current version of Outlook (or possbly the whole of Office) before you re-install.

I noticed the other day that the internal “repair” utility in Office seems to have been quietly depreciated?

Come back if a re-install does not fix it.
