My microphone randomly stopped detecting me talking and none of my friends could hear me either, I tried restarting my computer, that didn’t help, I tried updating my drivers, none of them needed it, I tried running a troubleshooting thing on windows 10 and that didn’t find anything, I tried using a different program to talk through, that didn’t do anything, and I also tried changing the plug ins I had my headset plugged into and that didn’t help either, any ideas what could be the issue?

There may be a an issue with settings. You can go to device manager, than select your microphone and uninstall it. Than restart the pc and verify the install of microphone in device manager and test the microphone again.

I have a custom built computer with a MSI B550, Ryzen 5600x, Gtx 1050ti, 32 gb of corsair ram, 750w psu from corsair, I looked into Device manager and my computer detects my microphone but no sound is coming through it, I’m thinking that the cord got pinched off but I’m not sure. It is connected on the front of my pc in the audio jacks but I plugged it into the back jacks too and it doesn’t work there either

Normally there are two places to look for Sound issues, Control Panel \ Sound and the application you are using.  Settings in either place can cause issues.

Myself, I have a Yeti Nano and every once in a while it dies and takes my video camera with it.  Disconnecting the Yeti USB and reconnect resolves the issue.

Have you looked in Device Manager for problem devices?

How is your microphone connected USB or 3.5mm jack? or is it built in?

can you say the make and model of your PC please?
