I get the error “This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action.” when I try to “GET” Alarm Clock HD.
How do I fix that?

Are you signed in your computer with a Microsoft Profile (ie) Email Address, or PIN? or signed into the Microsoft Store with a Microsoft Account? You need to be signed in to download any apps from the Store. If so, see this helps- How to troubleshoot app package signature errors – Win32 apps

That’s supposedly is what MS requires. You could set it, download and install then change back to your preferences. Let’s get another opinion on this since MS says that’s required, but it worked for me without accepting their defaults.

I can’t set a default if I don’t know what type of file it is. If you mean to set all apps to microsoft default, I don’t want to do that. I use Irfanview, Firefox, LibreOffice, VLC Media player, etc. If I choose microsoft defaults, won’t that reset everything to MS default? I don’t understand what the error message is telling me to do.

You have to set Microsoft apps to default settings. Just worked fine for me. I’m deleting it because I don’t need it.
