I just picked up a 27 inch monitor/tv to use with my Lenovo Laptop because my old monitor quit. I’m using the vga connection for the time being . WhenI turn them on i get the same picture on both screens. When I go to settings it will not detect the second screen. Am I missing a step? My old monitor would allow me to view two different screens…

Thanks for any help

Thank you both. I was getting 1/2 in the same box. I looked a little deeper and found the setting was for duplicate image. Once I changed it all was well…:)

The computer is seeing the external display evidenced by the fact that there is an image on the screen. It seems to me that you should see the setting to extend or mirror your displays. I’m not all that familiar with this setup, but others here are. I’ll wait to see what they have to say.
