Hi,
Recently as of 2-3 days ago my computer has been freezing/ lagging. It feels like frame lag when where my will freeze randomly for 1-3 seconds. I have ran Full computer virus scans, i have cleans all my drives, i have uninstalled unwanted/used programs, i have disabled programs that run on start up that don’t need to be ran on start up, i have monitored my PC temperatures and usage for about 12 hours and everything seems to be fine. I have also tried to change the power settings to high performance and also on the normal default one. The average temp on a GPU when i’m playing a game like rust is around 70*c . I really don’t know how to fix this as its never done it before and its really annoying when trying to play games.
My PC Specs are:
GPU – NVIDIA GTX 1060 6Gb
CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
RAM – 16gb DDR4
OS – Windows 10 64-bit
I have 240Gb SSD and an overall amount of 5Tb HDD over 2 Drives
not 100% sure but i believe i have a 650W PSU
CPU cooling is a duel radiator Water cooling
Please help or leave suggestions to try i would really appreciate it.
I’ve updated drivers and done the update, it seems slightly better. Still not 100% ill see how it goes thanks for the help
I doubt it’s a cpu overheating issue. It’s just a possibility that’s easy to rule out. Another possibility is that secondary mechanical drive. However, the main culprit would be the gpu driver or the gpu itself.
Hi so the update has helped it a little but but still not 100% I will try the driver thing for the GPU tomorrow and I will monitor the CPU temperature. I’m not sure what the temperature is because I use speccy to monitor it and I don’t believe it says a CPU temp but I’ve also had performance monitor up on fast manager and it varies massively when I’m playing games like rust but sits around 40-50% utilisation most of the time. I can give more accurate numbers tomorrow
That’s a difficult problem to resolve on-line. Have you looked to see that Windows is fully updated? Sometimes there is an update working in the background.
Do a Windows + R and type winver in the dialog box to find out what version and build of Windows you’re running. Also go to Settings > Updates and Check for updates.
