Internet Speedtest
Internet Speedtest
Use the following tool to monitor and test the latency, speed, and jitter of your internet connection:
This Speedtest is performed by measuring the time it takes for the server to reply to a request from the client address. The client sends a message to the server, upon receiving that message, the server sends a reply back. The Speedtest will measure the time it takes to get back to your system or “ping”. The speed of the connection is measured in ms (milliseconds).
Before you contact your internet service provider (ISP) or mobile carrier, check to see if you’re running any ongoing downloads or other programs like video chat that might be using up all your bandwidth. Close any applications that may be hogging the internet bandwidth. If your Speedtest result still seems slow, try to reboot your computer, mobile device, modem, and router. It’s always best to ensure there are no devices using the internet connection while the Speedtest is in progress.
Once the Speedtest has finished, the results will be displayed. Keep in mind that on higher bandwidth connections (150 Mbps and above), you will need a higher quality router to keep up with the Speedtest.
